confessing and freely accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Statement of Faith
Values and Beliefs
At Central Leander Church we believe it is vital that God’s people be joined together by mutual love for Christ and full submission to His Lordship. While we do understand that we may never agree on every Biblical doctrine, we recognize that there are essential doctrines upon which faith must be grounded.
We believe the following to be such doctrines; therefore, we stand firm upon this Statement of Faith.
-
-
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the fully Inspired Word of God and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and practice.
-
-
-
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
-
-
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His miracles and His sinless life.
-
-
-
We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ; and in His ascension into heaven where He now intercedes for all that believe and that He will one day return to the earth in power and glory.
-
-
-
We believe that man, created in the image of God, rebelled against His Creator and as a result incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God. We also believe that all are sinners and share in common the consequences of sin.
-
-
-
We believe that eternal life is the free gift of God, available to all and made possible by the redeeming blood of Christ, shed on the cross; and that one can only be saved by true repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ.
-
-
-
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The saved are saved unto the resurrection of life, the lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
-
-
-
We believe in the existence of Satan, archenemy of God and in the reality of spiritual warfare.
-
-
-
We believe that the Holy Spirit personally indwells every child of God and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not only in existence and available to those who believe, but are essential to our personal spiritual growth and to the life of the Church.
-
-
-
We believe in and practice the sacraments of the historic church, that being Baptism and Communion.
-
The Bible is God's authoritative and accurate source for salvation and Christian living.
Goal: To develop a love and hunger for God’s Word in all of our people.
-
We will make the Bible the center of our presentation in all of our worship experiences.
-
We will teach people how to study and apply the Bible to their daily life so they can “feed themselves.”
Worship is the natural life expression of a Christ-follower.
Goal: To provide opportunities and to encourage people to authentically and accurately worship God in both personal and corporate settings.
-
We will thoughtfully arrange our Sunday worship in order to maximize participation and purposefully engage people in God-centered worship.
-
We will instruct and encourage people in the basic forms of personal worship
Pursuing full devotion to Christ through a process of continuous growth is normal for every believer.
Goal: To raise up people that progress from believers to Christ-followers in all aspects of their behavior (life).
-
We will encourage a culture of growth depending on the transformational activity of the Holy Spirit.
We (the Church) will operate as a unified community of servants with men and women stewarding their spiritual gifts.
Goal: To build a corporate expression of the love, power and grace of Jesus Christ as we work together to reach and serve the world.
-
We will work to create opportunities for people to be able to serve the world.
-
We will provide “equipping” opportunities.
-
We will create a culture of leadership development.
-
We will, above all these, work to move in love and humility towards one another (Spiritual Family).
We will obey the Great Commission to go into our world to make disciples of all men.
Goal: To evangelize our community and other parts of the world.
-
We will encourage relational bridge building with unchurched people.
-
We will use the Sunday morning moment to connect with unchurched people, without diluting biblical truth or other CLC values, in an attempt to bring them to a point of decision for Christ as Savior.
-
We will encourage every Central Leander Church Christ-follower to be “salt and light” in their world of influence.
-
We will serve the needs of those that are hurting and hopeless in an effort to show these people the love of Christ.
The church has a stewardship to produce a culture in which young men and women (youth) can thrive and grow into all that God has created them for.
Goal: To produce an army of radical, passionate and holy Christ-followers from the youth of this generation.
-
We will teach and train parents the biblical pattern for raising children.
-
We will provide opportunities for the youth to grow and develop relationships in a Christ-like atmosphere.
